Waltzing Through Fall ~ Montreal Restaurant of the Week

Good morning Fall day.  Your vibrant colours and crisp air salute me as I step out into the early morning.  Where am I going on this glorious day?  I’m heading out to enjoy breakfast with some good friends.

Nothing says morning like the fragrances of freshly brewed coffee and baked goods.  Le Cartet is always at the top of my list for breakfast suggestions.  The ambiance is one of comfort, Zen, and trendy with its long tables, gorgeous flower arrangements and soothing lights.

The chatting takes a pause, as our lattes are set in front of us.  The comfort in a bowl is inviting as we clasp our hands around its warm perimeter and bring it up to our mouth to sample.  Perfect pleasure.

The newness of the day has us sampling different dishes.   Just the menu descriptions make our stomachs growl.

Smoothly we move from one dish to another as if participating in a graceful waltz.

French toast with blueberries, topped with sweet apple butter and crème fraiche is lovely.   The toast itself is wonderful as it’s filled with nuts and raisins.  The heartiness of this plate is a delight and has us feeling cozy in our surroundings.

We are curious as the scrambled eggs are set down.  Unlike regular eggs, these are mixed with asparagus and cheddar and placed softly on a scrumptious slice of bread.  Smooth, savory and crunchy all come together.  Each bite is an absolute bliss.

We take a deep breath as the fruit bowl enters the dance floor.   The union of yoghurt with blueberries and organic granola with ginger and honey provide us with endless combinations to play with.  Our taste buds are loving the treat.

I love Fall days.  They are always so colourful and delicious.

As always, I can eat…
