Foie Battle Preview Dinner (Downtown SJ)
As a tribute to our beautiful feathered friends, we commence this battle for the best foie gras dish in the Silicon Valley.
The preview dinner begins with a chef whose cuisine reflects simplicity, comfort, and a little bit of hip eccentricity in Downtown San Jose.
Foie Gras Torchon Black pepper orange marmalade, brioche toast
Foie Nugget Crispy foie nugget served over a grape relish
Seared Foie Gras Apple chutney, roasted squash, apple jus
Pan Roasted California White Bass Cauliflower puree, leeks, potato strings, foie butter sauce, balsamic gastrique
Petite Filet of Beef Red wine poached foie gras, risotto, wild forest mushrooms, black truffle coulis
Reservations are $90 (tax and tip inclusive) but bring cash for drinks/pairings.
More intimate foie dinners will revolve through the month, each week with a different chef from your local restaurants.
If you join, you will get to rate each dinner, and at the end of the month, the chef with the best foie dish will be announced.
Protestors, 5% of the proceeds will go to CHEFS, the Coalition for Humane and Ethical Farming, so please, let us enjoy our moments left alone with our soon to be banned deliciousness.
