Miami has been entered in an international Battledish: a competition between chefs around the world.
Six chefs have been chosen to compete in Battledish: Miami this October in conjunction with 60 other chefs competing in North America for King of Battledish.
Saturday, October 5th, from 2pm-6pm, the competition grounds of Miami Beach are open to the public. Foodies are invited to vote with their tastebuds and try all six chef creations.
Chefs will be creating smaller versions of their dishes priced at $5 each. Herradura Tequila Drink pairings are also available at $5. Can you dish and drink with all six chefs in four hours?
Dilido Beach Club - Chef Andres Meraz Behind the Scenes
Dish: Di' Crudo - Corvina, calamari and prawns marinate in a decadent mixture of fresh lime juice, Thai coconut milk and spicy Mexican sauce. The seafood is then fused with red onion, cilantro and grilled pineapple. The final touch is a garnish of crispy sweet potato, micro cilantro, micro leeks and edible flowers.
Cocktail: Di' Spicy Rita - Herradura anejo tequila takes on a spicy kick when combined with jalapeno puree, Cointreau, sweet and tangy pineapple juice, tart fresh lemon/lime sour mix, the sweetness of simple syrup and the frothiness of egg whites.

Dish: Blood Pudding Crostini - Argentinean blood sausage is cooked together with a Malbec wine sauce, spread over perfectly toasted crostini and then topped with slivers of bosc pears and braised local heirloom beets seasoned with cinnamon, black peppercorn and five spice.
Cocktail: Beet Sangria - A delicious cocktail made with roasted beets, Herradura Tequila, Alipus Mezcal and agave nectar garnished with a sprig of thyme.
Quattro Gastronomia Italiana - Chef Fabrizio Carro and Chef Nicola Carro Behind the Scenes
Dish: Beef Battuta Piedmontese Style with Parmesan and Truffle - Tender uncooked beef filet is chopped and seasoned Italian sea salt, freshly ground black pepper, parsley, lemon juice, extra virgin olive oil and a touch of truffle oil.
Drink: Taglia - Herradura Tequila mixed with Aperol, lime and grapefruit juices and simple syrup garnished with a mint sprig.

Dish: Paella De Carne - The delicious, slow cooked Paella De Carne has a rich, fragrant and slightly spicy flavor which consists of 4 house made meats, duck leg confit, chorizo, smoked turkey and pork belly, along with a variety of fresh vegetables, herbs and steamed rice.
Drink: Monk's Margarita - A tasty cocktail made with Herradura Tequila, green chartreuse and lime juice.
Barezzito South Beach - Chef Rene Omar Castillo
Dish: Honeymoon Roll - A crispy shrimp tempura and crab salad sushi roll topped with toasted almonds, miso dressing and honey.
Drink: New Fashion - Herradura Tequila combined with strawberry, jalapeño, lemon juice and agave nectar.
Terrazza at the Shore Club - Chef Steve Rhee
Dish: Insalata Mare - Gently poached scallops, shrimp, calamari, octopus and mussels with shaved asparagus, farro, chives, parsley pesto and a red wine vinaigrette topped with fried capers.
Drink: Oaxaca Negro - Herradura Tequila mixed with espresso/cacao reduction and Demerara simple syrup with a float of allspice dram Chantilly topped with cinnamon.

Competitors and their dishes will be revealed to the public every week here in preparation for battle day.

What is the Battledish event like? Think of it as a walking adventure through Miami Beach restaurants where chefs are waiting with their creations. At check-in, you will receive a map and a menu of the Battledish. It is then up to you to decide who to vote for. Battlegrounds are open for four hours. Everything is within walking distance.

Are tickets available day of?: Yes, but they will be $20 at check in, and $15 online. Food & Drink tickets will be available the day of for $5.
Are kids welcome?: Yes, we love kids! Although, participating locations have the right to refuse service to anyone.
Do kids need a general admission ticket? Yes, every child above the age of 10 needs a general admission ticket and we recommend, depending on the age of your child 2 to 4 dishes per child.
